It was the only hour all week that the oven door was closed, and my mother spent it on me.

Private until it’s printed. Your page never shows what he has said. The family reads it when the book is printed.
Yes, and he checks. He reads every chapter first, and we revise any that doesn’t sound right until he approves it. You read it when the finished book is in your hands. Until then, your page shows each milestone, never the words.
No. If he is, he does it on his own, whenever it suits him. If he isn't, make it an afternoon together: clip the microphone on him, sit beside him, and press Next when he has finished talking. The questions appear in big letters and are read aloud. A computer, tablet, or phone all work.
No. Every edition comes with two clip-on microphones. Clip one on and talk from a comfortable chair: every word is picked up clearly, no leaning into a laptop. Two in the box, so one charges while the other is worn. They plug into most computers, tablets and phones. Shipped free, usually within a few days. You can start before they arrive.
There’s no pressure. We invite him warmly and let him decide. If he’d rather not start, you can get a full refund until 30 days after he opens his gift (at the latest, 4 months after you bought it).
His words are his. His stories and transcripts belong to him, even if he never publishes.
No. He doesn’t have to write. Those are fill-in books he writes in himself. Here he talks, our AI interviewer asks the next question from what he just said, and we write his book. He approves every chapter.
No. No two interviews are the same. Our AI interviewer listens to each answer and asks the next question from it: a name he mentions, a place, a year. While he talks, we also look up the towns and years he names, so his book carries the world he grew up in.
His words lead; AI helps. We build every chapter from what he tells us, in his own phrases, and AI helps shape the writing on every edition. He reads and approves every chapter, and real people print and bind the books.
Yes, and so can the family. You add yours when you order, and everyone you invite to the family room can add one, with their name or anonymously. Our interviewer brings each one up at the right moment. If he wants to talk about it, it goes in his book.
A few weeks of easy conversations, at his own pace. about 7 to 10 hours for The Keepsake, about 12 to 17 hours for The Life, about 18 to 27 hours for The Heirloom, in conversations of 45 minutes to an hour at his own pace. Then the books are printed and shipped. Giving it on a date? Print the certificate the moment you order; the book follows.
Very little. Choose the edition, write your note, and tell us how to reach him. We take it from there. You don’t conduct the interviews, write the book, or manage the printing.
As a certificate you can print tonight. Every edition includes one, ready the moment you order, and the StoryMics follow in the mail. The interview starts on our website right away, from the certificate or our email invitation.
No. On Christmas morning you give the certificate. He tells his story in the weeks after, and the book follows.
Yes. Any edition can be split into three payments, two weeks apart, with no interest and no fee.
He tries it first, and you’re covered. Before he starts: ask any time until 30 days after he opens his gift, and we refund you in full.
After his first conversation with Anna: if it isn’t for him, tell us within 7 days and we refund you in full, no questions asked. Either way, you have at least 14 days from the day you bought it, and at most 4 months.
After that, there are no cash refunds, but he is never stuck. If he runs out of time or energy, he can finish early and we write a shorter book from everything he has told us so far. Or he can pause, and his story waits for him. Nothing is lost.
Once he approves his final proof and his book goes to print, it can’t be refunded, unless it is faulty or arrives damaged.
Paying in three? We refund what you’ve paid and cancel the rest. Refunds go back to the card that paid. A gift box that has already shipped is not refunded.
You give the invitation. He tells the story from his favorite chair, one question at a time. We write it, print it, and bind it.
